Protecting the Indoor Air You Breathe in Winter

Protecting the Indoor Air You Breathe in Winter

Lisa Crosley, President, Lifestyle Comfort Solutions shares ways to keep your family breathing
easy during the closed-up Winter months.

Winter arrived in Dayton and the Miami Valley and forced us to seal up our homes to confront
the cold. However, it’s equally important to protect your indoor air quality during Winter.

Change your Furnace Filters!

Depending upon the type of furnace filter you have, you may need to change it monthly. Some
filters need to be discarded and replaced, while others can be cleaned and reused. Set a
reminder on your SMART phone to remind you to changeout/clean your filter on a routine basis
to manufacturer instructions.

It’s Never Too Late for Maintenance

Lifestyle Comfort Solutions recommends furnace inspections every year! Go the extra mile, and
have the equipment cleaned. A gas or electric fireplace should be inspected, too. Chimney
cleaning may be needed from time to time to combat creosote build-up which could lead to a
chimney fire.

Use Your Exhaust Fans

Take advantage of exhaust fans above your kitchen range and in your bathrooms. They help to
protect your home from mold and will enhance the ventilation in your home.

Upgrade Your Mechanical Filtration

Air Cleaner. Air Purifier. iWave technology. Humidification. Ultraviolet technology.

Technology has come to the HVAC world, and families are the beneficiaries.
